In the 1991 film City Slickers, an old Cowboy named Curly is riding the range with a city boy named Mitch. “Do you know what the secret of life is?” Curly asks. “No, what?” asks Mitch. Curly holds up a finger, saying, “One thing…just one thing.” After Mitch inquires as to what that one thing is, Curly explains, “That’s what you’ve got to figure out.”
The Bible tells us David was a man after God’s own heart. As a young man, he clearly knew his one thing. He wanted a lifelong relationship with God. He wanted to be in God’s house so he could seek God’s face and know God’s will. What one thing do you desire of the Lord?
