COME CLEAN

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners: and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
James 4:8, NKJV

The annals of history will undoubtedly record that in the year 2020, while suffering through the Coronavirus Pandemic, America finally learned Mom was right all along. It is important to wash our hands. Though we cannot seem to agree on the optimal song, the common thread in practically every hand sanitation lecture produced during this crisis is our solemn duty, for timing purposes, to sing while we scrub, as if the human brain were incapable of estimating a twenty second time frame in complete silence. If washing our hands is the outward cleansing of our actions, purifying our hearts must be the inward purging of our thoughts. To be truly clean, we should scrub on the inside while singing the Wagner opera Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. It has a running time of five hours and fifteen minutes.
