Healing Sinners

When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
Mark 2:17, NKJV

Nonchurchgoers often believe Christianity is all about the good people. They reason that to fit in with the rest of the congregation, they need to dress nicely, have a decent job, coach a ball team, serve in the PTA, or otherwise prove themselves as upstanding citizens within the community. But Jesus did not come for people trying to prove they were already good.

The point of Christianity is that people are decidedly not good. We are all sinners in need of a Savior. In the same way that hospitals exist for the sick, churches exist for sinners willing to turn from their sins and come to Jesus. If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, make an appointment with the Great Physician today. He alone can heal you.
