Treating Others

And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.
Luke 6:31, NKJV

Most people know that the Golden Rule is the principle of treating others the way you wish to be treated. Jesus mentioned it in the gospels of Luke and Matthew. Sometimes described as an ethic of reciprocity, it can be found in virtually every religion and ethical tradition. It is a principle offering us a comprehensive grid by which we can evaluate our every action.

Applying this one rule makes the right thing to do fairly obvious. Should I punch William in the face? (Do I want William to punch me in the face?) Should I gossip about Jill? (Do I want Jill to gossip about me?) Should I change lanes without signaling first? (Do I enjoy being cut off in traffic without warning?) You know the rule. Put it to work and watch what happens.
